As I commented earlier to same subject, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they never produce the filter.
No one believes they've got a dusty '86 Savage at their dyno room which they dyno time after time and always get disappointed at the results.
I don't blame K&N, though. They have a bit of knowledge and surely could make a filter, but very propably they would also need to make a jet kit to match. Then they would propably have 20 to 50 customers willing to buy the whole thing, whereas with the street bikes (where 50 to 80% of owners buy aftermarket intake parts) they have a steady and profitable demand.
As the Savage original airbox is what it is, you'll get best intake gains with pod filter anyway. It's just a bit more work to find out the proper intake mods yourselves but you'll save some bucks by DIY.
